As part of the Compliance Conference 2025, we are proud to announce the annual Compliance Awards – THE BEST OF…, aimed at recognizing and rewarding excellence, innovation, and dedication in the field of compliance and business ethics in Croatia and the region.

If you are an individual or organization that stands out in the field of Compliance, ethics, and good governance, we invite you to apply and show us what makes you the best!

Award Categories:

  • Best Compliance Manager
  • Best Compliance Program
  • Best Code of Ethics

Applications are open to individuals and organizations from Croatia and the region, with the application deadline being August 15, 2025.

CATEGORIES & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Best Compliance Manager

The award is open to Compliance Managers, Compliance Officers, and Compliance Monitoring Officers who have contributed to the development of compliance within their organization through innovative strategies, concrete projects, and effective measures.

An ideal candidate should be a person who:

  • Actively developed and improved the Compliance system within the organization.
  • Fostered an organizational culture of integrity through education, communication, and leading by example.
  • Implemented innovative initiatives that enhanced the understanding and implementation of Compliance standards.
  • Successfully managed challenges and risks in the field of compliance.
  • Had a significant impact on employees and business processes.

What should the application include?

The application should include a detailed description of the Compliance Manager’s achievements, showcasing concrete results and the impact on the organization:

  • Description of key initiatives and projects led or implemented by the candidate in the field of compliance.
  • Evidence of the real impact of the Compliance program on the organization, including changes in business practices, process improvements, or increased compliance awareness.
  • Examples of innovation – how the candidate brought fresh ideas and improved the Compliance approach.
  • Employee and stakeholder feedback – include recommendations or statements that confirm the contribution and impact of the Compliance Manager.

This category recognizes outstanding Compliance leaders who not only ensure regulatory compliance but also actively shape a business culture based on integrity and responsibility.

2. Best Compliance Program

This award recognizes the best implemented Compliance program within an organization, demonstrating effectiveness, innovation, and practical application in a business environment.

Organizations that have developed a strong, functional, and tailored Compliance system, aligned with employee needs and regulatory requirements, are invited to apply.

Applications can include the entire Compliance program or specific key elements that you are particularly proud of and consider best practices, such as:

  • Fun and innovative training that increases compliance awareness.
  • Creative internal communication campaigns that effectively promote a Compliance culture within the organization.
  • Exemplary whistleblower systems that provide employees with a safe and transparent reporting channel.
  • Any other aspect of the Compliance system that delivers concrete results and contributes to strengthening integrity within the organization.

What should the application include?

  • A detailed description of the program or selected parts of the program that are particularly successful and represent best practices.
  • Clear presentation of goals and implementation strategy, explaining what the program aimed to achieve and how it was implemented within the organization.
  • Methodology of implementation, describing the steps and approaches used for successful program deployment.
  • Presentation of measurable results and program effects, demonstrating how the program improved the Compliance culture, contributed to organizational ethics, or enhanced regulatory compliance.

3. Best Code of Ethics

This award is given to an organization that has developed an inspiring, clear, and applicable Code of Ethics—a document that not only sets behavioral standards and organizational values but also actively integrates them into everyday business processes.

The Code of Ethics should be more than a formal document—it is the foundation of organizational culture, a tool that guides employees in making the right decisions, and promotes responsible, transparent, and ethical business conduct.

What should the application include?
The application must include the full Code of Ethics along with additional information that highlights its significance and practical implementation:

  • Description of the development process – How was it created, who was involved in its development, and how were key values defined?
  • Implementation strategy – How was the Code communicated to employees and stakeholders, and what measures were taken to ensure its integration into the organizational culture?
  • Proof of practical application – Examples of internal training sessions, workshops, campaigns, or other initiatives that have helped the Code become a living document within the organization
  • Innovative approaches and tools – If the organization used creative methods for presenting the Code (e.g., interactive platforms, storytelling, animations), the application may include visual or digital materials.

A strong Code of Ethics is the foundation of trust and integrity in every organization. If your organization has developed an outstanding, innovative, and effective Code of Ethics, we invite you to apply and share your success story!

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

  • Applications are open to individuals and organizations from Croatia and the region.
  • Both local and multinational organizations from all industries and sectors (public and private) can participate.
  • An organization can apply in multiple categories, but a separate application must be submitted for each category.
  • Each application should include an application letter with a description of achievements, key evidence, and references that confirm the impact and effectiveness of the submitted work.
  • Additional materials (visual presentations, video content, presentations, etc.) are welcome if they further support the application.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Applications should be submitted electronically to info@codupo.hr

  • Application Deadline: August 15, 2025.
  • The winners in each category will be selected by the Conference Committee, composed of experienced Compliance professionals.
  • Members of the Conference Committee and their organizations cannot participate in the competition.
